Welcome to Eagles Nest

Eagles Nest is a beautiful 40 acre family campground. We are located on the banks of the Elk River in Ginger Blue, Missouri. The atmosphere is family oriented, Elk River Floats has three other locations so we have a location perfect for you. Our campground policies are available below.


Tent Camping

$15.00 per person per night

We have several different tent site sizes and are able to accommodate any size of group.

RV/Pop-Up/Travel Trailer

Full Hookup Sites (A-P, 25, 60):  $45.00 per night (up to 2 people)

Water & Electric Sites (26-36, 62, 63):  $40.00 per night (up to 2 people)

$15.00 per night for each additional person

Other Details

Children 7 and under are free

Children 8 - 10 are $10 per child per night

Friday night check in is a 2 night minimum.
Water, electric, restrooms, showers, and trash service is all included.

Elk River Float Trips

All canoes are priced for 2 people, to add a 3rd person to the canoe it is an additional $25. We do not allow any more than 3 bodies in a canoe.



$20 per person  This is a ride on the bus from our downstream location back to Eagles Nest where your car is waiting for you, or your own boat to float back to your car.

Boat Shuttles and Vehicle Shuttles range in price depending on group size and if your group is renting from us or not. Please call for a quote.


Over Night Floating

Wanting to make your float last two days, or maybe you are wanting to try out several camp spots? Whether you are roughing it on a gravel bar, or checking in to your campsite from the river at one of or midstream or downstream campgrounds, we can make it happen.


Additional Information

  • All campers, canoers, guests and visitors must register and pay before entering the campground.
    • FRI-SAT 11:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.
    • SUN-THUR 10:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M. 
  • Quiet Hours are strictly enforced. 11:00 P.M.-7:00  A.M. Non-compliance can result in eviction.
  • Disrespect, disorderly conduct and vulgar language will not be tolerated. 
  • No loud radios at anytime. All radios off by 11:00 P.M.
  • Keep your campsite clean. Deposit all trash and recyclables  in proper  containers that are provided throughout the campground. Bring all trash back  from your canoe trip.
  • We reserve the right to reassign campsites if necessary.
  • Gravel bars are for foot traffic only. NO VEHICLES  ON GRAVEL BARS.
  • There is drinking water available on the west (women's)  side of the  shower house.
  • No lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.
  • Pets must be leashed and attended at all times.  Failure to comply will result in eviction of dog and owner without refund.  Please clean up after your pet.  No aggressive breed dogs. (Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, etc.)  Do not attach leashes to trees.
  • No cutting or marring of any trees.  A $150 fine per inch for any damages.
  • Use only existing fire rings. Do not dig pits. Burn  only clean wood or paper.  (No nails, cans, bottles, etc. in campfires). There is firewood for sale at the  office. Absolutely no tree cutting allowed.
  • Speed limit in campground is 10 MPH. Please drive carefully and slowly. Keep  the dust down in consideration of others.  Violators will be evicted from the premises.
  • Generators are not allowed.
  • No ATV’s, 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, firearms, fireworks or illegal drugs allowed on premises.
  • Anyone destroying or damaging property at Eagles Nest will be held accountable.
  • No electrical cords are to run from electrical to non-electrical sites
  • Restrooms and showers are open 24 hours a day, except  for regular cleaning.  Children should not be in restrooms without adult supervision. Do not wash  dishes, pets or clean fish in sinks.

Reservation Information


Camping reservations & policies

Family camping campground features RV sites with water service and 30 amp electrical service at each site. Tent camping is also available. We want everyone to have a great time so please respect your camping neighbor and the beautiful surroundings. Please keep the park clean. For your safety the speed limit is 5 mph throughout the campsite.  


Canoeing, kayaking and rafting reservations

Elk River float trip (kayaks, canoes, and rafts) reservations are highly recommended for everyone on weekends and for groups during the week. Float trips paid in advance will guarantee your kayaks, canoe, and/or raft until 11:00 am on float date.  

Saturday floats start at 8:30 am and run until about 2:00 pm unless arrangements are made for a later time.

Sunday through Friday floats start at 9:00 am and run until about 2:00 pm unless arrangements are made for earlier or later times.

No coolers larger than 48 quart and no Styrofoam coolers!


Cancellation policy

Elk River Floats will gladly issue rain checks for floats if we deem the river unfloatable. NOTE: We float rain or shine.

If you cancel prior to 10 days before your float or camping there is a 10% cancellation fee,within the 10 days is raincheck only. Rescheduling is available if the river is at flood stage. 

We will take your reservation in advance. Any reservation made in the last 10 days (30 days on Lodge) prior to your arrival date is final. *Reservations made within the 10 days prior to your reservation are non-refundable, but a raincheck will offered to reschedule for another time. No money can be returned if cancelled. This policy is strictly followed.
